End of Football Starvation- BPL is back !!

Well, after three months of footballing drought, the start of the Premier League season(2009-10) is a life-saver for many footie enthusiasts ,including me.Lets try and analyse what's ahead of us this season.

Top 3 things that will NOT influence the Premier League (2009-10) season:

3-Rafael Benitez's Liverpool- So what if I am an United fan, most (Read intelligent) people will agree that with the loss of Xabi Alonso , Liverpool will fall short of the title for...um..... the umpteenth ...uh....actually 20+ th time.

2-Man City-Are they the new Chelsea? NO. When Chelsea got their financial boost they were already thereabouts in the top four.City on the other hand are measly mid-table and can realistically hope of maybe gaining a Europa League spot- Stiff competition from Villa,Spurs and Everton(they WILL bounce back from the Arsenal debacle).

1-Ronaldo's exit-Story of the season.Transfer of the season. But not miss of the season.I feel Ronaldo's exit will not impact United's chances of retaining the title this season.United will most likely revert back to the tried and tested 4-4-2,more like the system when Louis Saha was there.

My Predictions for the season
1- Man United
2-Chelsea
3-Arsenal
4-Liverpool

One-sided post???? I don't fcuking care !!(Glory! Glory!)

Review of Gameweek 28- Saturday games

This week has been good for the chasing pack for the lead in the Premier League .. Both Manutd and Chelsea scored convincing victories against Fulham and West Ham  both in away matches.  To start off,ManU started with no Ronaldo,Rooney and rested Carrick,Giggs and yet managed to wrest control of the match . Goals by Owen Haregreaves and Park ji Sung in the first half enabled ManU to finish off the match effectively by the end of first jhalf. The united defense stood firm against whatever attack ,the Fulham players could muster upon.Chelsea won away to West Ham at Upton Park 4-0. Grant can  once again talk about the positive football he has made  the players  to  play though his brand of football disappears like a magic trick when confronted against good managers and decent teams (remember Aston villa 4-4 our own Carling cup final aginst the spurs ) . Let us hope for the Blues sake they are able to gain one silverware this season . Goals from Lampard, Joe Cole , Ballack and yes yes i got it right no wrong surname --Ashley cole. The negatives from the match regards to Chelsea was that Lampard got a straight red card for his alleged slap on Boa Morte . While if this was any ordinary seson missing Lampard for three weeks will be a bad time, this time however Grant having spent the pst few weeks having headaches on choosing the right  mid-fielders to field proves to be a blessing in disguise . Chelsea ,ManU , Arsenal  all have their second legs this week . If they can weel maintain their  league forms , the Champions League could be thrown wide open

Rafalled !

Ever tried second guessing Rafael Benitez ? If you are right, you will probably go into the Nostramadus family of thinkers. Liverpool's shock defeat (was it ?) to Barnsley very much sums up Liverpool's season so far. Not quite up to what they are capable of , and every possible thing going wrong.

Most of this is due to Benitez's tactical errors , which are far too many to list down. And he was   astute enough to try and draw the fans towards him , diverting the blame on to the club's American owners. But Liverpool's major problems are those on the pitch.

With the Premier League trophy getting a we-will-try-again-next-season  for another year (yawn!) and with the FA cup exit , Liverpool's season ,and to very great extent Rafa's managerial carrer , rests on the Champions League .That too won't be any easier as Liverpool face ,
arguably the best team in Europe this season- Inter Milan.

Can Rafael Benitez pull off something improbable and manage to stay on at Anfield? We are not far from an answer. Bring on the Nerazzurris !!
